The Setting: the Bold Colorful Life Estate in early September
Our
Early September wedding
The Bride and Groom's families arrived early and spent
the week enjoying the site...swimming and paddling in the
cove...biking and running on the back roads...exploring the Boothbay
peninsula...and planning the intimate wedding....
The wedding was a community event, where
everyone pitched in and helped, using their special area of
knowledge. First, the tent was erected by the family members. The
bride and groom chose a site between the freshwater pond and the
Back River...
And another small tent was set up for drinks
and appetizers near the back porch...
The wedding was to be held near the freshwater
pond...and the day dawned foggy and moist...with a promise of some
sunshine by 3p when the wedding was scheduled. For once, the Maine
weathercast was right and there was no rain for the wedding. (!)
The flowers were supervised by Kelli's sister
Annie...
And the women gathered around to help....
The food preparation was going on in the
kitchen.....
when the Officiant arrived and it was time to
walk through the ceremony....
The Irish musical trio set up for the
ceremony....
Then the guests, looking fabulous, began to
arrive at the site beside the pond.
A wonderfully emotional time....
And proud Dad walked Kelli down the hill to
the wedding site...
And the wedding began....
The Officiant pronounced Kelli and
John....wife and husband.....
And the pictures began....
Followed by the reception....on the back porch
of the Farmhouse and the new 'reception deck'....
A gorgeous celebration....a lovely family....a
day to remember.....
