The Butterscotch Amber suite, on the
second floor of the Cape, includes a unique twin bedroom, where
the nutmeg twin beds are tucked under the eaves...cozy and
comfortable...with shelves to hold your favorite book and a
drink or a cup of tea. This suite used to be part of the
'backhouse' of the original salt farm and the hand-hewn beams
are still visible as part of the wall structure. They are set
off nicely with the bright stripes of the bedding---in all the
colors of amber--butterscotch, honey, cognac and cherry.
This suite has the biggest
bath in the Cape, full of both morning and afternoon light, with a shower
and an antique claw-foot bathtub. The tub looks out over the
apple trees to the barn. The floors in the bedroom
and bath are refinished wide antique barn-board.
A sitting room completes
the suite, with oak bureau and wicker chair--to read a book or
watch cable TV. The sitting room floor is refinished random-width antique pine.
