The Malachite room, on the
first floor of the Farmhouse, looks south under the garden
porch, across the courtyard to the Cape and barn and orchards,
and across Back River road into nine acres of woods and wood
trails. It is blessed with morning sun and bird calls.
This cozy room is the perfect choice for those who
prefer not to climb stairs and for those who like to be in the
thick of things. It has easy access to the front garden porch,
the living room and library, dining room and the kitchen...for
tea or a midnight
snack.
This room is furnished
with a yellow pine King set, made up of two Twin beds, which are
easily separated, if desired, for separate accommodations, or for
easy accessibility. The room is decorated in cheerful green stripes and
is entirely handicap-accessible in both bedroom and bath, which
has an ADA-equipped sink and shower. Floors are
carpeted for easy maneuverability.
Here are pictures of the
bedroom and bathroom, so that you can see the layout. The pair
of rooms is just on the right, after you enter the front door of
the Farmhouse.

and bath.
Although the Malachite
bedroom and bath are ADA-accessible, and the Farmhouse first
floor is wheelchair-and-scooter-maneuverable, there is a
three-step rise to reach the front porch and a slight additional
rise into the building.
We
have a ramp that can be placed up those front steps, if
your guest cannot maneuver them. Here are pictures of
the access to the front door of the Farmhouse, for your planning
purposes. The top three are without the ramp, bottom left with
folded ramp and bottom right with fully opened ramp. |
Please note: Rental accommodations do not include breakfast, but
the kitchen is fully-equipped for each group to make its own
meals. To learn about the Bold Colorful Life Inn,
